Spread on top of the chilled pie and freeze. Move pie to refrigerator about 30 minutes before serving.

Prepare single pie crust and bake. Then refrigerate to chill.

In a large saucepan, mix cocoa, flour, beaten egg yolks, sugar, salt and vanilla, then gradually add Half and Half, while stirring in the pan over medium-high heat. Cook until thick, beating it smooth. Remove from heat and add ½ stick of butter and almond extract if using. Stir until butter is melted, then pour into pie crust. Put pie in refrigerator to chill.
